Scouts can be used to explore unknown lands so that one's pack leader may eventually explore them for encounters. For a scout to discover an unexplored biome they must expend 60% energy. After a biome is discovered, a scout may continue to visit a biome, for 20%-100% energy, until the scouting progress bar is full. Scouts may be injured while exploring. Scouts will gain proficiency when they scout, or rescout. A pack can have a maximum of two scouts. The role can be changed at any time, and the proficiency will not decay over time.
Biome Difficulty[]

Completed Map
The progress bar will fill more slowly depending on the difficulty of the biome, and how much energy a scout goes into the exploration with. A scout will always use all of their energy to explore a biome, and how long they spend in the biome correlates to how much energy they have when they begin their scouting. 1% energy is equal to 1 minute of exploration for a maximum of 100% energy expenditure equalling 140 minutes of exploration. The statistics of a wolf, and how proficient they are in scouting, will determine how much of the territory they are scouting that they discover.
Exploration of areas is not barred by the level of a pack leader but instead having to have had the area explored by a scout. One can easily explore one's territory as leader by clicking the name of the biome one is located in, underneath the pack leader’s portrait on the left hand side of the page. When the current lead wolf dies or is retired, exploration progress will be wiped but territory will remain in the same location.
Rescouting[]
Rescouting is a mechanic unlocked after you've completed the same prerequisites as with moving your territory. You must fully discover all starter biomes, which will then award you the achievement "Retracing Old Steps". The obtention of this achievement is what unlocked Rescouting. Since unlocking Rescouting is achievement-based, this means that the prerequisites only need to be completed once, and Rescouting will still be available when you retire your lead and your biomes are reset.
Rescouting is accessible at the bottom of every biome page that you've already fully scouted. Rescouting requires 100% energy. Sending a scout to rescout a biome will temporarily lock you out of exploring that biome until the rescout is completed. This has the same potential outcomes as regular scouting including EXP gain, possible stat gain, injuries, and illnesses. However, instead of filling a progress bar, the scouts will bring back amusement items or, on rare occasions, the recipe for Pose: Sentinel. They will bring back two items every scout. You will also have the potential to receive a large carcasses if, and only if, you have a quest that requires it.

Moving Territory[]
When a biome has a full progress bar and is available to be explored, one may decide they would like to move their pack’s territory there. Territory moving can be achieved through the questing snake.
The first, or starting lead wolf in a pack, must have all starter biomes (Mountains, Grasslands, Deciduous Forest) unlocked in order to be allowed to move - this is not the case for subsequent leading wolves, they will only need to have unlocked the biome one would like to move to. Upon request to move territory, the questing snake will then give a quest to slay a certain number of wolves in that specific biome before he will help one move their territory. Wolves slain in other biomes will not count towards this total.
The amount of wolves that must be slain can be calculated by dividing one’s total wolf count (excluding the leading wolf of the pack) by four, rounding up, and adding two to that amount. Territory moving quests can be rushed with premium currency at a rate of 1GC per wolf that needs to be slain. In formula, this could be written as:
- [(TotalWolfCount - LeadWolf)/4] + 2 = WolvesToBeSlain
