Quest snake

A small favour in return for prizes? Who could say no!

Questing is a mechanic that is directly accessible from the Crossroads page immediately upon account creation. It is run by a small corn snake who will reward you Silver Cones (SC) and EXP based on the difficulty of the quests you complete for them.

There are three (3) difficulty levels for three separate quests: Easy, Medium, and Hard. Easy quests can be finished quickly though offer less rewards; Medium quests can take more time and offer moderate rewards; Hard quests can often take a lot longer and yield the highest rewards. Each quest expires at the same time you started it next rollover. If a quest is finished next rollover, you can immediately begin a new quest of that same difficulty. More about these quests can be read under [Daily Quests].

Alongside being able to participate in daily quests, there are also unique quests and quests for moving your pack to a new home biome.

Daily Quests[]

Daily quests are an easy way to earn Silver Cones and lead wolf EXP early game! Users can complete three daily quests every day, one of each difficulty. Quests are separated into three difficulties -- easy, medium, and hard. The more difficult the quest, the more SC and EXP is granted to the player.

If you don't have any active quests, you can take all three quests at once on the Questing page. After you have active quests, they will appear in a new widget on your sidebar! This widget will indicate which quests you are on, your progress on them, and if they can be completed. Though, if you would prefer to not have this quest widget appear on your sidebar while you have active quests, you can disable it in the Account Settings section of your Profile page.

Rewards[]

Every quest will reward a certain amount of SC and EXP upon completion. The amount of SC increases with the quest's difficulty while the amount of EXP increases with lead wolf level and quest difficulty. The general range for SC rewards in relation to quest difficulty is as follows. The amount of SC you get seems to be randomized within these ranges.

Easy: 45 - 55 SC
Medium: 90 - 110 SC
Hard: 135 - 165 SC

Alongside basic rewards, for completing your daily quests, the player is able to earn achievements for completing so many daily quests. These achievements have no reward but are a fun way to keep track of how many quests you have done!

A Few Simple Tasks - Complete 3 daily quests in one day

Unique Quests[]

Unique quests serve as an introduction to the game (a tutorial of sorts), walking the player through the steps of certain activities. These quests can only be taken once and are required to be completed in order to access certain parts of the game. However, after you have completed a quest, you can review it in full in Tala's Archive, on the Help page.

To start a unique quest, visit the questing snake on the Questing page, and select the quest you'd like to take from the Unique Quests section. Unless otherwise indicated, Tala, the NPC wolf from the introduction, will appear at the bottom of your den page to walk you through the quests.

While you may accept multiple quests at once, you can only have one active at one time. Accepting a new quest will pause your current quest, unless that quest cannot be paused. Players can switch their active quest whenever they would like through the Questing page. Players can also pause quests if they temporarily don't want to work through them, but it's recommended you try to complete all of the quests as quickly as possible to unlock all of the game's mechanics.

Moving Quests[]

After completely discovering all of the starter biomes (all those that are marked easy: Mountains, Grasslands, and Deciduous Forest biomes), the player unlocks the ability to move their home to a new biome upon their full exploration. The quest will ask the player to kill wolves, with the amount varying by how many adult wolves you currently have in your pack. Alternatively, the quest may be skipped by using Gold Cones.

The number of wolves that must be slain can be calculated by dividing one’s total wolf count (excluding the leading wolf of the pack) by four, rounding up, and adding two to that amount. Territory moving quests can be rushed with premium currency at a rate of 1GC per wolf that needs to be slain. As a formula, this could be written as:

[(Total Wolf Count - Lead Wolf)/4] + 2 = Wolves to Be Slain
